If you are involved in dealing with Outsourcing, Software Providers, Service Providers or almost any other party required to manage and deliver IT services, ITIL is often the common language.
Read our ‘Top 8 Tips for Passing the Exam‘ so you can begin your path to ITIL® Accreditation.
- Attempt as many sample questions as possible. The questions are reused, and there is a good chance that you will see some practice questions in the exam. It will also help you familiarise yourself with the question format.
- Have a read through the syllabus. It will tell you what you need to know. Anything that you don’t recognise, revise.
- Make sure you understand all of the definitions and terminology. Words like Incident, Problem, Known Error, Standard Change for example.
- Remember that your answers need to be ‘Best Practice‘ and not necessarily how you might approach the scenario.
- Read…the …questions…slowly and carefully. 60 minutes for 40 questions is plenty of time. You will not be pressed for time.
- Keep an eye out for key words. For example when the question asks about the customer, it is not talking about the user.
- Agreed and Value are two favourite words. They are good words to have in an answer!
- Be very careful with words like “guarantee”, “mandatory”, “must”, and any other absolute terminology. Remember the correct answer should always include “It Depends”.
